[QUOTE=Fear Me!] Despite the norm of how recruiting has become, you're supposed to pug, yes pug. QUOTE]
And what about those New "Pugs" who just got game have no idea to even Go out and kill for that first 1k, They not suppose to have a guild? And keep in mind many players who discover a New Player Insistly think "Noob" and can be rather cruel forgetting that we where all once "Noobs" Its nice to give back something and help Show a new gamer the ropes to get them as good as you may like to do that team stuff that having the* occassional pug who hsa gamed for 2 years but still likes to Insult, abuse and slander a team player because their just all mouth. And I'm sure many can recall having ssome one as such when they went down to "FoW" or what have you.
Remember it is "Guildwars" If it was suppose to be pugging Players as so I'd think it be called "Pugwars"
Either way thx For your opinion and such.

/Signed 100 times by our guild.
The roster is full, but largely due to the efforts of our leader who was recently banned under the same circumstances. We were all outraged by his ban. The funny thing is, He doesn't spam the chat with recruitment messages. He posts once every minute or so to keep the chat from being flooded. The search window simply doesn't provide enough text in the description to convey a guild message, otherwise it would be an excellent alternative. I'd like to know what the criteria are for a message to be considered "Spam". I have seen people clearly abuse the chat but this case didn't even come close.

Yes, I see your point. My quote of pugging however, is for the recruiting guilds. Rather than send one player to spam local chat to recruit a stranger, they should be pugging with those new players who need help and then asking them if they'd like to join. A guild serious about recruiting and helping people out would not be spamming chat to recruit, they'd be partied up to help out new players learn the ropes of the game, not send blind invites out. There is a huge difference between "recruiting people, helpful guild" and "I'm a part of X Guild, anyone new here and guildless need help? We're hoping to recruit." One is no different than a telemarketer spamming chat, the other is a genuine offer to help.

wow i've posted same idea while back and it got trashed. it most likely this wont implemented in gw1 but hopefully in gw2. Always trying to recruiter new members but by spamming in local chat isn't really working for me i personally have local chat unchecked when am in major town.
To some of the comments here like for "fear me!". i agree with you but u got to understand not every person is the same not everyone has the same recruiting strategy but u know what i had joined some random guild from person who was spamming in local chat and it turned out the good decision and made some good friends
Now back to the topic. by adding NPC or whatever i think would eliminate spamming reduce local chat to have actual conversation in the towns and reduce banning people for spamming. This is also goes to trade channel as well .

I would add that even if you use the party search system for guild recruitment the message goes to all chat in all districts. So what do you do when a-nets own creation for guild recruitment uses all chat, yet ppl get banned for recruiting in all chat as it gets deemed "spam".

I agree, seeing a player in action and recruiting on that basis is the best way to go. However, many guilds are structured with very few officers who can recruit. More over, there are other criteria to be considered. For example, our guild is primarily on the East coast. We may only want players who are in the GMT-5 Time zone so scheduling events or PvP can be better organized. There are many factors you just have to take the player's word for when recruiting, as there's no way to accurately observe them for your self. It is easier to recruit based on such criteria by stating what you are looking for in chat and choosing from the fewer people who respond.
